Belay: To hold the rope in a way that allows you to break your climbing partner's fall. Also can refer to an anchor in the rock to break a climber's fall. Belays are why gravity checks don't become diggers.
Beta: Climbers info, such as where great holds are. Typically shouted to you just after you have lost your grip on the rock.
Bomber: A great hold.
Crimp: A finger or toehold; not recommended for long pauses.
Digger: A fall - usually results in a high speed impact with the ground.
Face to Face: Smacking the rock face with your face.
Flatlander: A non-climber.
Going Vertical: Climbing.
Gravity Check: A non-fatal, usually non-damaging, fall.
Meat: Flesh damaged from climbing. For a true climber, this means oozing blood and perhaps a bit of bone showing.
Mother: The rope.
Pumped Out: Exhausted from climbing.
Route: A series of holds that lead up a rock face. New routes are created when either different locations on the rock are climbed, or different holds in the same location are used.
Vertical World: Action of climbing or the place that you climb.
Vine: The rope. The color of the rope is the color of the vine.
